Your NBTA School Community: Essentials for School Reps

Essentials for NBTA School Reps:
Basic Skills – Strong Foundations

Description: You are not the NBTA complaints department, nor is your sole role to forward emails! This session will examine the primary responsibilities of the NBTA School Rep., and allow for practical learning, networking, and burning questions. Objectives include:

• Understanding your role and responsibilities
• Understanding NBTA and NBTF mandates
• Developing networks

Registration: Branch Presidents are asked to register interested Reps. from their branch as a group. 

Registration Deadline: Please express an interest in having your branch participate by August 30.  It is not necessary to have complete confirmation of all details by August 30, simply let us know your branch may be interested.

Session Dates: All sessions will be held in the branch’s local area but specific date, time, and location will be determined in conjunction with your local Branch President.

Session Facilitator: Sessions will be facilitated by the NBTA Educational Staff

Intermediate Skills – Strong Foundations

Description: These short, virtual learning sessions are designed to allow School Reps. to dig deeper into their role.

Session Logistics:

Making Meetings Work – January 15, 2025  (4h30 – 5h15)
Resolutions – January 29, 2025  (4h30 – 5h15)
Communication and Social Media – February 19, 2025  (4h30 – 5h15)
Conflict Resolution – March 12, 2025  (4h30 – 5h15)

Registration: No pre-registration is required. 

Session Facilitator: Sessions will be facilitated by the NBTA Educational Staff and invited guests.
